An obedient and diligent maid served with a rich farmer on an estate at Unterholz in the Pfitschtal valley. However, she was too eager to go away at night. The farmer did not like this, and wanted to fire her from his service. And then the young woman confessed to him that she was unfortunate enough to be a trude. But she loathed this demonic compulsion, and thus she went into the forest at night and squeezed the trees.

As he felt pity, the farmer questioned a veterinarian in the Maruiterthal valley who was known as a master of witchcraft, as well as a miner on the Schneeberg who knew quite a few bindings. And both of them suggested that he should sacrifice his best cow to the young woman. However, he must do so without regret.

The farmer permitted this in order to save the soul of the diligent maid, and when the trude took the cow around its center and squeezed it so strongly and so long until it dropped dead, she was permanently cured.
